        Binnen vrijwel alle verpleegafdelingen, de spoedeisende hulp en diverse behandelende afdelingen is het verzorgen van wonden één van de belangrijkste kwaliteitspijlers van het succes van de behandeling en het welbevinden van de patiënt. Het bijzondere belang dat het LUMC toekent aan goede wondzorg wordt onder andere weerspiegeld in de inzet van verpleegkundigen met als aandachtsgebied wondzorg en in de specialistische Wondpoli. Inhoudelijk is het wondzorgbeleid gericht op het bevorderen van wondgenezing door het beperken van wondkolonisatie en het voorkomen van wondinfecties, maar ook op het reduceren van pijn. Het LUMC zet daartoe een brede range van wondzorgartikelen in, bestaande uit het reguliere basispakket, maar ook uit producten voor speciale zorg en gebaseerd op innoverende technieken.

        Deze aanbesteding als zodanig is gericht op het verwerven van een pakket wondzorgmaterialen dat dit beleid ondersteunt.
